One reason many herbalists tend to favor mullein is simply because of its ability to break up congestion. Mullein is also known to many herbalists as a specific herb to help assist the body with many glandular disorders. Through the accumulation of toxic waste in the body from improper diet, poor blood stream and sluggish circulation, the lymph nodes become congested and infected and swell up which causes pain and discomfort. (There are lymph nodes that swell on the neck, breast, groin, under arm, etc.) Mullein is definitely the herb of choice to many herbalists when it comes to the lymphatic system of the body.
